The breakfast was more than decent, above our expectations compare to the disappointing old fashion, never renovated hotel. Except the standard scrambbled eggs, cheeses,charcuteries, fresh fruit ets, serves also a variety of fresh italian pastries and a very delicious american coffee, served to an open terrace viewing Taormina sea gulf. The area around the swimming pool is fantstic surrended by green nature and offers astonishing views to Taormina's scenery

The hotel was spotless and in a fabulous position , the views were amazing and its so close to town . The hotel runs a shuttle to their sister ship at the beach which is well worth doing. We had a great day and lunch there.

Fabulous view of the bay from the large balcony. Pool and garden were lovely. Good breakfast overlooking the town and sea. Helpful friendly desk staff. Staff parked hire car on site.

The property is dated but we knew that and were willing to trade that for the views. We had room 53 which shared a huge outdoor patio with rooms 51 and 52, that had fabulous views of the Sea and Mt. Etna. A great thing about this hotel is it's sister hotel on the beach - which guests can use. There was a very nice and large pool at our hotel that has outstanding views and is surrounded by beautiful vegetation. We stayed for 5 days which was just about right. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were wonderful - with gorgeous views all around. the terraces. The breakfast staff were very nice and attentive. The room could use updating but was adequate and the mattress very comfortable. The bathroom was somewhat small and outdated. Once or twice a day, we walked down to the Corso Umberto which is full of good restaurants, shops and just a great place to stroll with a gelato. There's a bit of a hike back up the hill to the hotel. We are seniors and didn't mind it - a lot to see along the way. Or, you can always take a cab back up the hill. It is a beautiful and ancient city that we enjoyed very much. We were blown away by the Greek Theatre - be sure to go the cafe at the top for a nice snack or lunch and amazing views! Loved a night at the Italian Opera. Enjoyed our Godfather tour much more than we thought we would. It was easy to get to the train station and the trains were clean, inexpensive and on time. No extended trip to Sicily would be complete without spending time in Taormina!

Location, stunning views from all huge terraces of the sea and Mt Ena, pool and gardens, good breakfast. Comfortable, spacious room. Free private beach at the sister hotel (Lido Mediterranee). Very useful the on site parking with valet assistant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was extraordinary. It was up so high with stunning views over Taormina. The hotel was close to everything and the pool was a great restful getaway in the afternoon.

View as others have stated and thats it, but bear in mind all other hotels in the area have same view more or less. Staff very helpful, from the owner to restaurant staff, breakfast was ok , you get what you see in pictures more or less. It is a short distance to Main Street, but it will take your breath away going up hill once you done with shopping ,walking up and down and have filled your belly with food.

The location of the hotel meant you had superb views over the bay and Mount Etna - possibly the best view in Taormina. It was also very quiet with no planes, very few cars and no extraneous background noise to get on your nerves. The pool is fabulous (although access is challenging) with the same fabulous view over the bay. The staff (particularly Salvatore) are great.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mediterrane. The hotel amenities were really good, particularly the pool which provided a little oasis of relaxation. The hotel room was spacious, clean and we had a huge balcony. The hotel staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to provide assistance when needed.

The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance of many different ethnic restaurants. The staff, Zamina and Antonio were helpful in obtaining a visiting nurse for my wife.

Spectacular view and excellent location. That is why you pick this hotel! Know it is a throwback to the 60s - VERY dated - but all is clean, amazing terrace, and beautiful grotto pool. Staff was very helpful as well. Also not restaurant closes after October 1 but decent breakfast available.
